Fruit Cake Cookie

one 16 ounce package of candied cherries, chopped
one 16 package of green candied pineapple, chopped
3 cups of chopped nuts
2 cups of raisins
3 cups of flour, divided
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 teaspoon of nutmeg
1 teaspoon of ground cloves
1 stick of margarine
1 cup of firmly packed brown sugar
4 eggs
1/2 cup of bourbon, optional
3 tablespoons of milk


Mix 1/2 cup of flour with cherries, pineapple, nuts and raisins. Toss to coat. Combine 2 1/2 cups of flour, soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves, ser aside. Soften margarine and beat in sugar. Continue beating until light and fluffy. Add eggs and mix well. Add flour mixture gradually. Add milk and bourbon if desired. Stir in fruit mixture. Drop by teaspoonfuls on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 300ºF. for 20 minutes. Yield 9 dozen
